We’re honored to welcome Professor Anna Szostak-Chrzanowski as our keynote speaker for the Mining Geoengineering panel at this year’s conference!
Anna was a faculty member at the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Canada, for over 30 years. From 2008 to 2020, she held a position as full professor at the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining, and Geology at the Politechnika Wrocławska, Poland.
Anna Szostak-Chrzanowski is an author of seven books and over 300 scientific publications and reports
Anna Szostak-Chrzanowski developed an interdisciplinary approach to modeling, physical interpretation, and prediction of deformations in engineering and geosciences projects with worldwide applications such as: deformation analysis of the largest in the world concrete face rockfill Shibuya dam in China, large earth dams of Diamond Valley Lake project in California, ground subsidence studies in copper mines in Poland, analysis of deformations of tectonic plates in western Canada, slope stability analysis of Barrick Gold mines in Nevada and many others
At present she is involved in Nutrien potash and salt mining project in New Brunswick and in KGHM Polish Copper coper mining project in Poland.
